His numbers for his age in the Allsvenskan are actually pretty mediocre to bad.

If I had a $ for every player who scored 100 goals in the Q and never amounted to a hill of beans in the show I would be filthy rich!
Broberg is by far the best Oilers prospect and IMO the only sure thing they have.

Old enough that I dont live in my parents basement like you and experienced enough to know Lavoie is no where near a sure thing at the next level. Back to your X Box young fella you have a living to earn.

I don't think "elite vision" describes Broberg at all. The only thing aside from his skating that's elite is his willingness to attack the net in a way most Dmen don't even consider. I have him topping out around Nurse: a solid two-way Dman that can skate the puck up the ice and eat minutes, but makes more mistakes than average. Less physical but has that net driving ability and is a better passer.

It's the thing about opinions and ass holes, everyone has one.

Strange takes at the top. To each their own.

Lavoie could be as high as #2 I suppose. But as much as I love his goal scoring as well its a reach you have him #1.

Broberg is likely most people's #2. Big guy, skates well, and is tracking well. I see his upside as a variant of Nurse/Klefbom when he is said and done but he could end up more... Have to point out he isn't tracking well enough you assume he will be a future #1 all star defenseman. So far there is a significant amount of overhype for a player that has yet to dominate at any level.

Bouchard tho. Strangely gets slept on. His offense in every league IS worthy of overhyping. I am tempering expectations but if you had to pick a current Oiler prospect Bouchard is the easy choice.

Well documented elite vision, shot, and passing. Dominance at every level while being THE guy as well. Rumored leadership skills and competitiveness. His offense in every way falls into elite category at every level...

Who knows how it will translate at the nhl level. Or if his lack of elite skating or defensive accurum will hurt him but if we are talking hype only Bouchard is our best prospect by a mile imo. His skating isn't bad at the nhl level and his defense steadily improving hardly areas of concern true concern for a prospect of his potential.

You guys remember that old Oilers blogger that guaranteed the Oil wouldnt draft Nurse because we already stacked with Klefbom, Gernat, and Marincin ?

Broberg.
Bouchard.
Then a big drop to Holloway.
That's about it.

I would be curious if Holloway is good enough to be a 2nd liner if he or nuge would center a second line allowing draisaitl to play with mcdavid. The oilers biggest issue the last two years has been secondary scoring, if they have that why not unite two of the best players in the league on one line.

Also I would agree with most here to say lavoie at one is a stretch. Potentially good top six player for sure but I wouldn’t say most people considered chris kunitz a 1st liner just because he played that role with Crosby.

If he becomes a point a game player with either of the oilers’ stars I’ll eat crow but I wouldn’t say his actual ceiling is higher than that of the two oilers main D prospects

I do. The same one who claimed that because of his affiliation with HB he had become an insider. To his credit he later admitted that he didn’t have inside info, but yes, I remember. Whatever happened to his hockey site after he quit his HB job in anger?

The last few years oilers fans have been talking about how good they think Benson will be and how he was their “#2 prospect“.

Ah well they got new toys to play with.

You say that as if it was unreasonable to have high expectations for a (almost) point per game AHL rookie. Prospects development isn't linear; who'd have guessed?

He got a (frank) load of investors to start up the site and then realized he didn’t know what he was doin and had to hire a webmaster he couldn’t afford ,begged the public To send him money and when that didn’t work he walked out on his investors and abandoned the site. He also refuses to date fat chicks even though he’s a disgusting slob himself.
